The Christmas Concert

THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Each and every year we have a Christmas concert at my school. The last week of school before winter break we do a Christmas concert. There is a play and different songs, and this year we are doing traditional songs from around the world. The play is about Santa, an elf and two girls learning about different countries and their traditions. My grade is singing three songs: O'Hanukkah, Deck the Halls and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

These are some of the decorations the other grades made.

Art in Grade 5

Art has been very successful. We have made name art, blob art, snowman art and we are making whimsical trees. Art can be hard when you don't have an idea or don't know what to do. I feel that to make it easier,  you need to be around things that inspire you or to be around things you like. I am also very excited to find out what our next art project will be this year.

Electricity

In  grade five science we are learning all about electricity.

We had a presentation on electrical safety. We were told that electricity is measured in watts.
They showed us a real life example of hazards.  If you leave a frayed cord in water and plug it in, you get electrocuted.

Being electrocuted is not the same as being shocked. The difference between electrocuted and shocked is that electrocuted means you died.  Shocked means you just got hurt. At the end of the presentation they gave us a Fortis Alberta pencil case with a pencil and light bulb eraser.

I enjoyed the presentation.
